I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 30 years of experience, dedicated to supporting individuals, families, and the vital bonds we share with our companion animals. I hold a post-master’s certificate in Veterinary Social Work from New York University, and my work integrates both traditional clinical practice and a deep commitment to the human-animal connection.
My social work journey began after earning my BSW from Rutgers University, followed by an MSW from NYU. Throughout my career, I’ve provided psychotherapy and case management services to individuals and families coping with chronic and degenerative illnesses. I’ve always approached my work with compassion, insight, and a trauma-informed lens.
Animals have played a central role in my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve had the privilege of sharing my life with avian and canine companions who offered unconditional love and presence; qualities that have profoundly shaped both my personal and professional path. Discovering the field of veterinary social work felt like coming home. It allowed me to integrate my clinical expertise with a lifelong respect for the healing power of the human-animal bond.
Today, I support both pet parents and veterinary care teams as they navigate the complex emotional terrain of illness, loss, and caregiving. Whether you’re facing anticipatory grief, the heartbreak of pet loss, or the emotional demands of working in animal care, I offer a safe, empathetic space to process your experience.
For pet parents, I provide therapeutic support during times of grief and transition, recognizing how deeply our pets are woven into our emotional lives and identities.
For veterinary professionals, I offer a specialized understanding of the unique pressures of your work. You are on the front lines of compassion, and I aim to support your resilience, reduce the impact of secondary trauma, and help you reconnect with the values that led you to this meaningful profession.
I believe that pets are family, and that honoring the human-animal bond enriches not just individual lives, but our entire communities. I’m proud to be part of the growing network of professionals working to build an infrastructure that supports emotional well-being for people, for animals, and for those who care for both.
